Eliminate Tobacco Smoke From Walls

Remove cigarette smoke from your walls with items you have around your home.

Cigarette smoke not only leaves behind an unpleasant smell, but it can also leave an unsightly yellow stain on your walls. If you want to remove the smell and the stains, take the time to scrub the walls with homemade solutions. Since the smoke can penetrate deep into the walls, you may need to treat the walls two or three times to remove as much of the cigarette stains as possible.

Instructions

1. Combine two parts of warm water with one part of white vinegar in a container.

2. Soak a sponge in the solution. Wring out the excess liquid and wipe down the walls.

3. Rinse the sponge with cool water when it appears dirty. Continue to dampen the sponge with the solution, and wipe the walls to remove the cigarette smoke smell.

4. Combine 1 qt. of cool water with 2 tbsp. of liquid dish soap in a separate bowl. Soak a new sponge in this solution, and wring out the excess solution.

5. Scrub the walls with the sponge to remove the yellow cigarette stains. Avoid soaking the walls with too much water or you can cause the paint to crack. Continue to scrub the walls with the solution, and rinse the sponge with cool water as necessary.
