Clean Nicotine From Walls And Furniture

Tobacco and tobacco smoke contain an alkaloid poison called nicotine that can stain anything that it contacts. Nicotine stains appear yellowish and smell unpleasant. Nicotine can also be difficult to get out of upholstery or remove from walls due to its sticky texture. The method you use to remove nicotine depends on the type of surface from which you want to remove it.

Instructions

Walls

1. Select vinegar for upholstery or trisodium phosphate (TSP) for walls.

2. Mix 1/4 cup TSP with 1 gallon water in a mixing bucket.

3. Soak a sponge in the solution.

4. Scrub the walls until the nicotine is removed.

Furniture

5. Mix 1 cup vinegar with 1 gallon water in a mixing bucket.

6. Pour the vinegar and water mixture into the tank of an upholstery cleaner.

7. Plug the cleaner into a power source. Attach the upholstery wand to the cleaner.

8. Depress the trigger on the wand to release a stream of cleaning solution. The solution will loosen the nicotine. The wand will vacuum up the solution and nicotine.
