Kill Slugs With Nicotine

Killing slugs with nicotine is easy and effective.

Slugs are the bane of many gardeners. They are slimy pests that can destroy lovingly grown plants and flowers, leaving the average gardener extremely frustrated and annoyed. There are, of course, a whole host of pesticides and methods that can kill slugs, one of which can be made in the home organically -- nicotine spray. Simple to make, this spray is very effective at killing slugs and will not damage other animals or plants. Try it yourself and eliminate all slugs from your garden in no time at all.

Instructions

1. Pour the cup of loose tobacco into a large container and fill with a gallon of water.

2. Leave the container containing the tobacco and water alone for 24 hours to allow the compound to mix. After 24 hours, the color of the mixture should be the same as tea that has been diluted with milk. If it is too dark, simply add some more water.

3. Pour the mixture into a spray bottle so that it is easier to carry and use around the garden.

4. Spray directly onto young plant leaves to kill slugs and other nasty worms and bugs that eat the leaves. The spray will remain on leaves for a few weeks.
