Increase Bloodstream Oxygen Levels

All the cells in your body need oxygen to function correctly. Your brain for example uses approximately 25 percent of your total oxygen intake. When your body is deprived of oxygen, a condition called hypoxia sets in causing unwanted circulatory problems, respiratory problems and fatigue. Lack of oxygen can also cause psychological problems like short-term memory loss and poor judgment. However, increasing the oxygen in your blood can help your body remove harmful toxins and make you more energetic and alert.

Steps to Take


1. Attain proper posture. Slumping forward, rounding your shoulders and slouching are examples of poor posture. Poor posture can reduce your oxygen intake. Stand straight. Practice rolling your shoulders back while pushing your chest out. You can increase your lung oxygen intake with proper posture. See You Tube link below for a video on good posture.


2. Consume complex carbohydrate foods such as grains, beans and vegetables. These improve your circulatory system's oxygen cells in the body as well as their ability to transport them. Eat this frequently on a daily basis.


3. Do not inhale secondhand smoke and avoid smoking all together. Nicotine in tobacco products increase the blood's carbon monoxide levels, which decreases the oxygen available for proper bodily functions.


4. Exercise every day. Exercise increases your blood volume, thereby increasing the oxygen in your blood. Begin an exercise program immediately to experience an immediate increase in oxygen. Exercise at least 30 minutes a day.


5. Do yoga breathing. Doing yoga daily can help you strengthen your lungs, enabling more oxygen to enter your blood to be circulated throughout your body's cells. See You Tube link below for a video.
