Quit Smoking Without Hypnosis Gum Or Patches

Smoking withdrawal can cause headaches.

Smoking is a dangerous habit that can result in severe health defects. The temptation of smoking is caused by the addicting effects of nicotine. Inhaled and absorbed in the blood and lungs, nicotine produces a dissemination of glucose. The glucose triggers the body into feeling alert and calm. Smoking cigarettes, however, can cut the adult life span by 15 years. By committing to one of several options, you can stop smoking without hypnosis, gum or patches and add years to your life.

Instructions

1. Suck a nicotine lozenge, allowing it to dissolve in your mouth. If you light a cigarette as soon as you awake from sleeping, consider a 4mg lozenge. A 2mg lozenge is suitable for smokers who wait to light up at least a half-hour after awaking. Lozenges provide small doses of nicotine to the blood stream and help smokers succeed in withdrawing. Take one lozenge every two hours during the first six weeks of treatment and decrease to one lozenge every eight hours by weeks 10 to 12 of treatment. Lozenge treatments typically up to last three months.

2. Wrap your lips around a nicotine inhaler, inhale and press down on the cartridge at the same time. Hold the burst of aerosolized medicine in your mouth for three seconds. Blow the medicine out. Do not breathe the medicine into your lungs. Nicotine inhalers provide small amounts of nicotine to the blood stream -- similar to lozenges. Prepare to use an inhaler an average of 10 times a day for a three-month period. Inhalers are usually available only through prescription.

3. Shoot nicotine nasal spray up into each nostril. Use spray once per hour every day for a period of one to three months. Used regularly, spray can begin cutting cigarette cravings within one week. The small dose of nicotine in the spray is rapidly absorbed into the bloodstream and often acts faster than lozenges.
