B12 Overdose Signs and symptoms

Vitamin B12, or cobalamin, is commonly obtained from food sources such as beef, sea food and dairy. It can also be ingested in the form of a dietary supplement or injected as a B12 shot. When a person overdoses on B12, they may suffer some symptoms.


Swelling


The patient may experience swelling and tenderness, particularly in the feet, ankles and leg calves. Swelling of the mouth, lips, tongue or face may also occur.


Blood Clots


The patient may develop blood clots in the legs. Her or she may also suffer unexplained bleeding and bruising as well.


Hives


The patient may develop a case of hives, which are characterized by an eruption of an itchy skin rash.


Chest Pain


The patient my experience some tightness and pain in the chest as well as shortness of breath and difficulty breathing. An irregular heartbeat may also result.


Muscle Weakness


The patient may develop muscle weakness or suffer from muscle cramps, tingling or numbness in the extremities may also be experienced.
