An electronic cigarette is an alternative to cigarettes and cigars that supplies doses of non-nicotine or nicotine vapors. Electronic cigarettes can be refilled, or parts can be replaced. As with any electronic device, the cigarette can malfunction. However, you can easily fix most issues without having to purchase a new unit. A few troubleshooting techniques can help resolve a number of these problems.
Instructions
1. If your electronic cigarette isn't producing vapor, clean and tighten the battery contacts. Replace the batteries if they're past their expiration date. Sometimes, tapping the unit lightly will resolve this issue.
2. Remove the cartridge from your electronic cigarette and blow into one end. Check the cartridge to see if it has sufficient fluid. Also, make sure that the atomizer is clean and free of debris.
3. In a mirror, look at the LED light at the tip of your cigarette to see if it lights up when you inhale. If it doesn't, try inhaling slightly harder. Remove the battery from the unit and lightly tap it on a hard surface, then replace it. This will usually release a stuck pressure-sensitive switch.
4. Replace your atomizer if your electronic cigarette still won't work. A defective atomizer will affect its performance.
